FOOD IS MAGICAL MEDICINE

We craft our food in small batches, using organic, wholesome ingredients from the Earth. We don’t use gluten, dairy, grain, soy, refined sugar, artificial colorings or flavorings, infusing our food with loads of love + a touch of magic. We like making everything from scratch, so we encourage you to take your time. Eat slowly + take in all the love!

FOOD IS SACRED

We draw inspiration from the deep connection to the Earth I inherited from hermy ancestors, honoring sacred ingredients like corn, cacao, vanilla and chile. The Mayans believe that the Gods created man from corn. Food has been a part of sacred rituals since pre-hispanic times, used as offerings to the Gods. To this day, from cacao ceremonies in Chiapas, to offerings on Dia de Muertos, food is still used as part of many sacred ceremonies in Mexico. We encourage you to remember your own ancestors and give thanks to the Spirit world as you savor your food.

FOOD CONNECTS + BRINGS US TOGETHER

Food connects us to the land, to the spiritual world and one another. Mexicans are always finding reasons to cook + gather + eat + celebrate. We encourage you to share your food with your community + loved ones, and give thanks to the beings who help grow, farm, care for + make our food.

SMALL FARMERS + CRAFTS PEOPLE ARE OUR FUTURE

We bring a lot of our ingredients directly from Mexican markets / producers / small farmers Karla personally knows, and we work with Oaxacan artisans to create beautiful, traditional tools as well. We believe handmade goods hold immense beauty and value, and slowing down to learn, feel, make and enjoy any craft is medicine for our heart, mind, body + soul.

THE EARTH IS OUR SANCTUARY

We pray to remember + honor the wisdom the Earth. It’s hard to stay away from plastic entirely, but we do what we can to help ur waters stay cleaner, our soils healthier, our animals happier and our plans + flowers more vibrant. We offer glass + compostable (wood, kraft paper) packaging as much as we can. We don’t use plastic bags, cups, spoons or straws. We use unbleached cookie sheets + parchment paper.
